Street Stalls Return to China

On June 1, during a visit to Yantai, Premier Li Keqiang spoke of the importance of China’s “street stall economy” and sparked a mass return of peddlers to China’s urban streets.

After years of crackdowns and removal of street stalls from China’s busy urban streets this policy shift has said to have already created more than 100,000 new jobs in Wuhan alone.

The returning smells of Lamb Kebabs, Malatang, Sweet Potatos, Jianbing (with an extra egg and a sausage), and Stinky Tofu come with a welcome boost to the local economy that has been heavily hit by COVID-19.

And it is not only us at GroupMAV that are excited as can be clearly shown by the pictures circulating the web.
