The year 2011 is of great significance for NFC development and aslo for NFC-enabled mobile payments.

Many of the world’s leading operators, including America Movil, Axiata Group Berhad, Bharti, China Unicom, Deutsche Telekom, KT Corporation, MTS, Orange, Qtel Group, SOFTBANK MOBILE, Telecom Italia, Telefonica, Telekom Austria Group, Telenor and Vodafone, have voiced their commitment to implementing Near Field Communications (NFC) technology, and intend to launch commercial NFC services in select markets by 2012. Clearly, NFC will dominate the market in the future.

Regarding the mobile payment in China, the battle between RF-SIM and NFC has been the obstacle to NFC-enabled mobile payments in the past years. However, the situation will probably be changed by the decision made by China Mobile which dropped its RF SIM technology and to adopt NFC instead. That means, the development of NFC-enabled mobile payment will gain a dramatic boost in the near future by uniting around a single standardized approach to mobile NFC. Moreover, based on the aggressive promotion of 3G mobile networks and support of the Chinese government, China will soon be the largest mobile payments market in the world. It is expected to soar 48% year on year to 410 million users by 2013.

NFC and Mobile Payments Forum 2011 will bring you an effective platform which provides great networking and knowledge gaining opportunities. Furthermore, the event will gather leading players across the entire value chain including chips/SIM card manufacturers, handsets manufacturers, mobile operators, financial institutions/banks, software and application providers, identification solution providers and terminal devices manufacturers etc.
